Perspective on New Home Sale Numbers

by Ryan Healy on January 29, 2009

So today we learned that the number of new home sales has dropped to its lowest level ever since record keeping began in 1963.

To put this in perspective, the U.S. population in 1963 was 189 million. The U.S. population in 2009 is approximately 305 million.

So with nearly twice as many people living in the U.S., the number of new home sales has still dropped LOWER than 1963.

That’s really something.

Might be a good time to rent, if you can. Just a hunch.

Might also be a good time to get some land and grow a garden. Slash your grocery bill and enjoy fresh produce. Food for thought. (Ha!)
